Maestro Antonio Vidal Riudavets was a Menorcan violinist and composer who lived between 1914 and 1995. Like many other Menorcan instrumentalists of his time, he could not devote himself fully to music and had to share this activity with other professions, but always maintaining his preference for music, his passion.
Maestro Vidal was part of the Opera Orchestra, the orchestra of the Ateneo Philharmonic Group. As a concertina violinist he performed for more than 20 years in lyric functions organized by the Orfeó Mahonès. He was also a composer and left several works written, some of which had won important competitions such as the "Festival Internacional de la Canción" organized by the City Council of Maó in 1972. Some of his best known works are: "Menorca canta mi amor","Menorca novia del sol", "Recuérdame","Sueño danza Oriental","Maó des meu cor","Séré tu amor","Amanecer", and some "deixem lo dol" wich is a special music played on Easter day, etc.
One day, his family found a folder with Maestro Vidal's scores, and because they didn't want them to be forgotten, they compiled them on this website.
